Secure and trustworthy access to services on the Internet – this is the aim of leading Swiss business representatives with the foundation of their Swiss Internet Security Alliance (SISA).
With their partnership across all industries, members affirm their commitment to the security of their services and customers. The Institute for Business Informatics of the University of Lucerne is also actively supporting this initiative with their «eBanking – but secure!» facility. «This reactive security check provides an ideal supplement to the proactive information and measures available on «eBanking – but secure!» (prevention) to secure your computer», says Oliver Hirschi, lecturer and Project Manager of the University of Lucerne – Economy.
To launch their association, the Swiss Internet Security Alliance introduces a security check providing users with a simple tool to check and optimize the security of their terminal equipment. «To check your Internet devices should become as much a matter of course as taking your car in for a service,» Philipp Rütsche, Managing Director of cyscon Switzerland, says. The Swiss Security Check provides three levels of protection: Users working with obsolete or incorrectly configured software and therefore risking their security will find out about this within a matter of seconds. Should there be any suspicion of a malware infection, a virus scanner supports the diagnosis and removal of any problems. A cyber vaccination completes this protection and keeps electronic malware, in particularly e-banking Trojans, at bay. The Swiss Security Check is free of charge and available under www.swiss-isa.ch.
